Innovations in Ecuadorian basic education for student wellbeing and sustainability 2025–2030 [Innovaciones en la educación básica ecuatoriana para el bienestar estudiantil y la sostenibilidad 2025-2030]

The objective was to reflect on the innovations needed in Ecuadorian basic education for student well-being and sustainability in the 2025-2030 horizon. A propositional hermeneutic approach structured in four stages was used: initial approach and comprehensive reading of fifteen sources published between 2018 and 2025; analytical interpretation and construction of emerging categories; fusion of horizons and interpretative synthesis; and propositional construction of well-founded innovations. The results generated five articulated innovations: comprehensive student well-being ecosystems addressing emotional, social, academic, and physical dimensions; transformative pedagogies for sustainability connecting learning with community projects; radically inclusive institutional architectures ensuring equitable access; participatory management systems with families and communities transcending auxiliary roles; and inter-institutional learning networks facilitating the exchange of innovative experiences. The realisation of this transformative vision required visionary leadership, sustained professional development for teachers, affirmative action policies, and validation through pilot implementations.
