The article aims to analyse new methodologies in teaching administration from the perspective of active learning and problem solving. It is a descriptive documentary study with content analysis of 17 indexed scientific documents published between 2017 and 2025, structured in four phases: general review, thematic analysis, systematic coding and interpretative synthesis. Active methodologies consistently outperform traditional approaches, promoting deeper learning, developing complex professional skills, and increasing student motivation. Their effectiveness is enhanced through articulation with emerging technologies, competency-oriented curriculum design, and authentic assessment. Successful implementation requires a transformation of the teaching role, continuous training, and favourable institutional conditions. Active methodologies constitute paradigm shifts that develop capacities to solve complex organisational problems, representing a strategic imperative for institutions committed to training administrators capable of leading innovation in dynamic contexts.
