The role of nursing in ICU care from a humanising approach

The aim was to analyse the role of nursing in ICU care from a humanising approach. The research was approached from a descriptive documentary connotation with bibliographic design, supported by the PRISMA methodology. It was determined that 38.5% are articles published in 2018, 61.5% were located in the Scielo database and 30.8% in Colombia, the country with the most research on the subject with 54% of the methodology based on a qualitative approach. The skills and attitudes to solve problems and perform efficient tasks are acquired during daily practice and even more so in situations where the patient is in a complex situation. Today, nursing should be a milestone in the advancement of care in health promotion and disease prevention with effective strategies for the fulfilment of the role.
