Nursing in patients with ischemic stroke [Enfermería en pacientes con ictus isquémico ]

The aim of this study was to analyze the initial nursing approach in patients with ischemic stroke in the emergency department. The selected technique was a bibliographic review, from which a selection of 18 articles was developed through health publication search engines such as: Scopus, PubMed, Scielo, Redalyc, Sage Journal; with the application of the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the findings of 15 scientific articles are presented in descriptive tables. The articles reviewed indicate arterial hypertension as the first factor, which can generate different complications when not adequately evaluated and controlled at the time of emergency care. Mortality is high in developing and industrialized countries, also a high risk of disability that represents a high socioeconomic burden.
